Chettinadu
Chettinadu
is located in Tamil Nadu State, India. The houses in Chettinadu
conjure up images of gigantic mansions, meticulously planned
interior, beautifully carved wooden pillars and palatial external
appearance. These gorgeous architectural delights permanently
etched Chettinadu on tourist maps of both domestic and foreign
travelers. But sadly, as the owners of most these houses now
live in other cities or countries, the buildings have been
left uncared for.
While
the Government of Tamil Nadu is making efforts to preserve
these 'heritage' structures, Mr. Kannan captures the unique
architectural style forever with his artwork.
 I
started the project on Chettinadu architectural paintings
three years ago. I have painted over one hundred houses. It
gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction in creating such
paintings for all to appreciate and enjoy these marvelous
homes.
